Speeding tickets
The prices of the car insurance companies depend on a variety of factors. Amongst these are the violations of rules and regulations which are also reflected in the driver's records. The driver's records include all the histories of violation and traffic problems that have been done by the driver. All auto insurance companies review the driver's records before they approve the insurance plans or quote the prices for the same. This record helps the insurance company to evaluate the risks which they might be indulging in by providing an insurance policy to such drivers. The more the violations the higher are the prices for the insurance. Amongst these factors are also spending tickets because the faster you drive the higher are the risks of accidents.
The first speeding ticket
Most of the insurance companies try to ignore the first speeding tickets but only if they consider other factors which cover up for one violation. For example, if your driving record has just one violation which is a speeding ticket, but has no other driving violations then the chances of the insurance prices going up are negligible. But if you have a speeding ticket along with various other violations like wrong parking, or accidents, or any other factors then the chances of the auto insurance prices going further up are higher. This happens because you are going in the opposite direction instead of rectifying your mistakes.
Major and minor violations
The prices of the auto insurance companies are based on two categories. These include the major violation and the minor violation. The major violation includes DUI, going faster than the speed limit by at least 10 mph, driving on the wrong sire of the road and various other factors. The minor violations include illegal change of lanes, speeding tickets, and other similar violations. Depending the on the type of violation, these companies increase or lower the prices for insurance.
Curbing your speed limits
All speed limits have been set up for road safety. These include drivers as well as the pedestrians. The risk posed by speed driving can be a threat to both. Due to these factors the car insurance companies try and regulate their prices as these violations. But if your speeding ticket has been a one time incident then the car insurance companies do not inflate their rates or prices. But it is always suggested to curb speed violations because you will need auto insurance again in the future and a huge driving record will lead you to getting higher prices in auto insurance.
